Pre-orders for HP's latest detachable Chromebook, the Chromebook x2, opened on Best Buy on May 11th, with a ship date of June 7th and an official release date of June 10th given. But for some reason, Best Buy is already shipping and selling these Chromebook x2s in store, and a reader has gotten one in his hands.

A Chromebook x2 arrived in the mail a couple of hours ago for Ananya, a reader, and he sent us some photos and a video.

Chrome 67 brings Progressive Web Apps to the desktop, adds experimental WebXR API for VR/AR content, and more [APK Download]

Almost a full month after the beta version was released, Chrome 67 is now available on Android and desktop platforms. This version includes the long-awaited desktop Progressive Web App support, as well as a new experimental tab switcher and several new APIs for developers.

Horizontal tab switcher

One major change in the new Android P Developer Preview is the horizontal Recents screen. It makes sense that Chrome's tab switcher would be updated to match the new look, and that's exactly what Google is doing.

Samsung wins update lawsuit in the Netherlands, won't be required to update all phones for four years

It's been a long time in the making, but the lawsuit by non-profit consumer group Consumentenbond against Samsung in the Netherlands has finally ended. The Dutch court has ruled in Samsung's favor, saying that the Consumentenbond's claims could not be enforced due to potentially unforeseen circumstances.

The case was first introduced in January 2016, with the Consumentenbond saying that Samsung should provide new software updates for four years after the initial release or two years after the retail purchase of the phone.

OxygenOS 5.1.2 for the OnePlus 5/5T brings gallery tweaks and some fixes, and downloads are available

OxygenOS 5.1.2 is out (well, it's been out for a couple of days) for the OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T. It doesn't bring with it many new features, but the May 2018 security patch and quite a few fixes are in tow. The download, weighing in at a hefty 1.61GB, is out now.

Here's the changelog:

Changelog:

System

  • Updated Android security patch to 2018.5
  • Fixed auto-rotation stability issue
Gallery
  • Places: a map view of photos by location
  • Added "Recently Deleted" collection
Wireless & Network
  • Fixed Wi-Fi connecting issue
Launcher
  • Double-tap to lock screen
Earphone
  • Fixed microphone not functioning issue for AKG earphones

The gallery gets the most attention here with two new features that we'd already seen on OOS 5.0.3 for the OP3/3T: Places, which shows a map view of your photos by location, and Recently Deleted, which shows you --- you guessed it --- your recently deleted photos.

Google Calendar now lets you write a message when meeting details are changed

Google Calendar may be used by a tons of companies to schedule meetings and events, but it's not perfect. However, Google has just corrected a long-standing qualm that many have had: not being able to inform meeting attendees about why a meeting was revised.

Prior to this update, changing a meeting's time or deleting a meeting altogether would leave attendees in the dark about why the meeting was rescheduled or canceled.
