Weekend poll: Screen protector or no?

nexusae0_wm_IMG_2495

In seven years of smartphone ownership, I can't say I've ever bought a screen protector for any of my handsets. They feel weird, they put a layer between you and the screen, and I really just don't' like the way they look. But, there's no denying that a proper tempered glass sheet can save your phone from catastrophe along with reducing the signs of general wear and tear, and a plastic one can at least do the latter.

Under Armour Sport Wireless Heart Rate review: A great step in the right direction

I have a love-hate relationship with Bluetooth, especially headsets. As a regular gym-goer, I like the convenience that they offer, which by-and-large outpaces wired earbuds. However, most are not as reliable, lose connection, and don't have the best sound quality. Despite all of this, I see more Bluetooth sound devices these days than wired ones. The neckband style especially (think Powerbeats) is gaining in popularity — they're all over the gyms, hiking/mountain biking trails, and sidewalks.

UE Wonderboom review: It's waterproof, sounds great, and is kind of adorable

This adorable little guy is the UE Wonderboom, the newest speaker in UE's product line. It's half as tall, and almost twice as fat as its more expensive and elegant big brother, the UE Roll 2. At $50 less, it's nearly as loud and sounds almost as good. The catch? It's missing a few of the features of its older siblings. However, if the missing features are ones you don't care about, it's a better bargain.

Samsung's EVO Select microSD cards are crazy fast and crazy cheap

Back when I used a Surface Pro 2 as my primary computer, I was quickly running out of space and needed more room. A 128GB microSD card set me back well over $100, and just a few short years later, the same capacity with faster read/write speeds is less than half the price.

If you have a phone, tablet, Nintendo Switch, or something else with a microSD card slot, Samsung's new Evo Select cards are the way to go. They're pretty cheap - just $13 for 32GB, $23 for 64GB, and $44.99 for 128GB.

Team17's 2D arena game 'Penarium' is now available on the Play Store for $1.99

Team17, perhaps best known for its long-running Worms series, released 'Penarium' on Steam back in 2015. The game is centered around a sadistic arena-like circus show, where you take on the role as Willy as he tries to survive the death traps. Now the game has been released on the Play Store.

Much like the PC version, the Android port has very low requirements - it even works on Android 2.3.3 Gingerbread. The price isn't too bad either - just $1.99 for the entire game.
